Electrochemically activated catholyte is predominantly fresh water in which metastable products of cathodic electrochemical reactions, in particular molecular ions НО2¯, О2¯, ОН¯, are formed and stored as a result of electrochemical unipolar treatment (at the cathode of the electrochemical module).
The electrochemically activated catholyte exhibits electron donor ability, i.e., it is a strong reducing agent and reduction catalyst in various physicochemical, including biochemical, reactions.
